San José is an active volcano located in the end of the Maipo valley, very close to Santiago, considered by the mountaineers as a “Classic mountain”. This grand mountain has two summits, but the southeast is the higher. the ascent not require important mountain experience more than a good acclimatization and have equipment for high mountain conditions.

DAY 1: SANTIAGO / LAS LAJAS 10,827 ft
In the morning we load our vehicles and drive to El Cabrerio, here the mules will carry our equipment and we will start the trekking to get the first camp “Las Lajas”. Camp will be set up in order to have dinner and rest.
DAY 2: LAS LAJAS / HIGH CAMP 15,748 ft
Breakfast. Hike up towards to the High Camp. Dinner, discussed about summit day, equipment necessary and rest.
Each member of the group - without exception - will carry the personal equipment for the summit day.
DAY 3: SUMMIT DAY
The big day! The group will get up around 3 am, have breakfast and start the climb. The use of crampons will be necessary.
Enjoy the magnificent landscapes from the top of the San Jose volcano - an unforgettable experience. Return to high camp.
DAY 4: HIGH CAMP / PLANTAT 10,171 ft
Go down with all equipment from high camp to Plantat. Camp will be set up in order to have dinner and rest.
DAY 5: PLANTAT / SANTIAGO
Breakfast. Descent to Santiago. First we will load up all equipment of the expedition as well as the garbage produced during all the days spent on the height. Walk down to El Cabrerio, where the mules take down our equipment. Load the vehicles, drive to Santiago and drop off in your hotel (Not included). End of our services. (Dinner is not included)
